Are you tired of your old gadgets like PC, iPod or digital camera? The recently launched trade-in and recycling program by Sears allows customers to exchange unwanted electronics for gift cards.

To be able exchange, you need to log into sears.gazelle.com, where you will need to enter the product information such as brand and model, declare whether the device is in working condition and details of the accompanying accessories. For personal products like multimedia players, you will also need to declare if the gadget has been engraved with your initials, which will decrease the value. Upon completing the required information, the self service system will calculate the trade-in value for you.

Products that accepted for this campaign include smartphones, console games, DVD players, camera lenses and GPS systems. Those who wish to participate must ensure that their personal data must be wiped out for devices that has hard drive or data storage capability.

Once you’re satisified with the offer, Sears will provide free shipping as well as packaging to return the equipment. The gift card will be sent in approximately one week. Electronics items that no longer work will also be accepted for recycling. However, this will carry no trade-in value.

As a special holiday, participants will receive a 5% bonus on top of the trade-in value through December 31.
