Acer Brew to Embrace Android

Google’s has never failed to attract phone makers from adopting their open-source mobile phone operating system – Android. Not long ago, Digizmo has reported a number of manufacturers which already chosen Android to operate their latest phones.

Motorola for instance has unveiled their Droid in order to elevate their position back in the market after being hit seriously by revolution of mobile phones, from a device that merely used for making calls and sending text to a multi functional device with web capabilities.

Another manufacturer has followed the steps by embracing to Android. They have recently announced their plan to enter the feature phone marking with its Acer Brew phone next year. Their latest set is based on Qualcomm’s Brew platform.

Their new Brew will made based on latest inputs, although the full details is yet to be released yet. It is believed that their plans to introduce the set in response to the Touch phone by HTC. Acer has formed a team of 30 developers for the development of Android sets.

Despite the lack of applications developed for Androids in comparison to iPhone apps, Android developers aims to narrow the gap between the two platforms. 2010 which is just around the corner will determine whether Android will be able to surpass the iPhone dominance.
