Canon has never failed to impress me with their range of digital cameras. My first digital compact camera was Canon, although initially I was so obsessed with Sony Cybershot, after a friend of mine came back from Japan and showed his new camera.

But when I went to the camera store, I changed my mind. The salesperson proved to me that Canon was not bad at all. As a matter of fact, they offered a better features along with their user friendly functions.
This year, Canon has announced 4 new additions to the entry level of its compact camera range, combining easy point-and-shoot operation with advanced digital imaging technology.
Their popular PowerShot A480 will be replaced by the latest PowerShot A495 featuring a 10 Megapixel, 3.3 times optical zoom lens and a 2.5-inch preview screen with a resolution of 115,000 dots.
It’s predecessor’s easy to use feature will still remain and the A495 will offer a Smart Auto shooting mode with scene recognition technology which allows you to detect 18 different scene types. It also incoporates an automatic i-Contrast dynamic range boost.
For those who love to shoot during the night, the Low Light mode allows you to capture night shots by boosting the ISO. It also comes with motion detection technology and video recording mode with a YouTube uploader application included in the installation media. The camera is compatible with high-capacity SDXC memory card, offering terabyte storage capacity, which is big enough for shutterbugs.
