The New HD2 From HTC

It’s been a while since the last time I used WinMo (Windows Mobile) as a platform for mobile phone. Back in 2005, I bought my first WinMo phone – O2 XDA IIs. It’s a phone with a slide QWERTY keyboard which allows me to hide the keyboard when not in use.

But after sticking back to Symbian and Blackberry, I have no longer in touch with WinMo world, until over a year ago, a friend of mine bought his HTC Touch HD. Well, I can’t deny I was quite impressed during the short ‘test-drive’ chance. The multi-touch screen and the ability to rotate the display without a need to change the settings manually really amazed me.

I thought Touch HD will be the last WinMo phone that will impress me, but looks like I’m wrong. The HD2 from HTC which recently launched proves that Windows Mobile still dominating the smart phone market despite the adoption of Google’s open-source mobile operating system – Android, by a number of phone manufacturers.

The HD2 incorporates a big 4.3-inch high resolution multi touch screen and this is by far the largest mobile phone screen in it’s category. The phone is think considering the fact that the processing power that it holds.

It’s screen ‘multi-touch’ screen is called capacitive touch technology which allows user to flick through different screens, resize a photo by pinching on the screen using finger.

The phone comes with a 1GHz SnapDragon processor which is almost twice as powerful as phones released a year ago. In other words, users can benefit a shorter application loading time and the ability to run multiple application simultaneously. Users will have a better video watching experience with this processor as well as its wide screen.
