Firefox 3.6 Speeds Up Your Browsing Experience

Mozilla has launched their latest version of their open source web browser – Firefox 3.6 just a few days back. As a loyal Firefox user, I am so delighted to have the Internet Explorer’s rival installed into my computer.

According to Mozilla’s official source, users will notice a number of improvements including an increase in JavaScript performance. In other words, websites that constantly update such as the popular social networks website – Facebook, should perform slightly better.

Improvement also has been made to enhance multiple tabs as priority is now given to the topmost tab. Another update addresses a frequent complaint: instability; 3.6 includes a plugin-checker that informs users of outdated add-ons, reducing the browser’s tendency to crash because of third-party extensions.

The latest Firefox will provide a better surfing experience as developers has been working further with the next generation of web technologies such as CSS gradients, Web Open Font Format, HTML5 Drag and Drop API as well as Full-screen HTML5 video.

But what are these mean to a normal Internet users? In essence, it moves us toward the vision of Web Operating System (Web OS), where browsers perform tasks that were once reserverd for a particular software.
