Mobile phones has become a part of our daily life. People make calls and send SMSes, but recent survey revealed a shocking truth. A report conducted by Mobile Data Association states that in United Kingdom, around 11 million texts are sent via mobile phones every hour.

This trend does not only affecting British but almost every corner of the world. A a report by CTIA’s Semi-Annual Wireless Industry Survey revealed that Americans sent 1 trillion text messages in 2008.

Aside sending text as a mean of communication, SMSes are also used to cast their favourite participants in reality show such as American Idols and Strictly Come Dancing. Despite the charges which usually higher than a normal text messages, people still vote out using their mobile phone. Each reality program season usually will spike up the number of SMSes sent out.

Festive seasons such as Christmas also contributes to the increase of text messages sent. For instance, there were 4.5 million SMS sent from mobile phones in United Kingdom.
