Cybershot W380 – The King of Compacts

When I start using my first digital camera, I have never thought that there will be higher megapixels than 5, but it turns out that I’m wrong. Those days, a 5-megapixel camera is considered good (even my 4-megapixel Cybershot P9 works pretty impressive that time!).

While most of today’s compact cameras equipped with as high as 9-megapixels, not to mention Digital SLR which has much higher megapixels, Sony has taken the leap by introducing its 14.1-megapixels’ camera – the Cybershot DSC-W380.

The megapixels is not the only factor that can turn your photos much more interesting. Its F/2.4 G lens with 5x optical zoom allows you to capture shots with DOF or Depth of Field effects as well as better low light shooting. Its 24mm wide angle lens ensure that you don’t miss your subjects and suitable for panoramic shots.

Sony always consider users’ convenience and for this model, they generously incorporate a 6.7cm LCD screen for easy viewing. Design wise, the DSC-W380 looks elegant with solid build. Other features include face-detection which is commonly available in modern cameras.

In short, I can say the Cybershot DSC-W380 is the new king of Sony’s compact camera line. The price is expected to be somewhere around $280, which is quite competitive among its rivals.
