Today I wanna share with you guys one of the key factor that made me where I am now. For those who might be wondering, I’m currently employed by world’s leading company in the oil and gas industry. Previously I have been working in few multi-national companies (MNC) including Hewlett-Packard and Dell. I also has been stationed in Singapore for a couple of years before moving back to my native soil.
To be hired by multi-billion dollar company, it doesn’t only count on your academic (i.e.; bachelor/master degree), but also product based professional certifications. There a lot of certifications out there that could compliment your academic qualification such as MCSE (Microsoft Certified System Engineer), CCNP (Cisco Certified Network Professional) and many more.
By earning a professional certificates, prospect employer knew that you really have the expertise in a specific product. Example, if you a MCSE holder, you have the knowledge in Microsoft technologies such as Active Directory (AD).
Hewlett-Packard also offers the similar credential to those who has completed the HP Certifications courses. You may wonder what are the benefits of being a certified person. Besides giving a in-depth knowledge in a specific area of technologies, it also builds self confidence when attending job interviews. Additionally, you may have a better chance compared to those who don’t have the certification and could ask for a better remuneration.
Some of the certifications offered by HP are HP0-S24 (Planning and Designing ProLiant Solutions for the Enterprise), HP2-H07 (Selling HP Thin Clients) and HP0-J36 (Designing and Implementing HP LeftHand SAN Solutions). All these has a different training for a different technology an ensure you have the most updated knowledge in these areas.
