Nintendo introduced its latest portable games console last Tuesday. The Nintendo 3DS has embraces into a new dimension of portable gaming by introducing 3D gaming without the need of 3D glasses. It also incorporates a built-in 3D camera which is the first of its kind.
The gadget features dual screens, a 3.5-inch 3D display on the top and at the bottom a touch panel screen. The depth of the 3D effects can be controlled using a slider on top of this device. The technology behind the 3D screen that requires no special glasses is still in question. But rumours has been going around the Internet that it can be possible with a parallax barrier LCD that is capable to display stereoscopic images without 3D glasses. It allows each human eye to see a different set of pixels, creating a 3D effects. The gadget also includes a gyro and motion sensor which will give players a new experience of movement-based gaming.
The release date and price for this 3DS is yet to be announce but it is expected to be somewhere in next year. This will definitely become PSP’s closest rival when it’s launched. Can PSP survive this battle?.
