But with the widespread use of Internet as a transaction place, there is also a setback. The Internet fraud has also increased paralleled to the Internet usage. Most of these are related to money scams where according to them, you will receive a big some of money. However, you required to transfer certain amount of money to them in the first place as one of the pre-requisites. Another approach is by sending you email with attachment, which actually contains trojan or malware that could not only infect your computer, but some are known to have the ability to harvest your passwords, credit card numbers and other personal information.

As a user, we have to put an end to this. Stop opening any suspicious emails, especially those who were sent from strangers, let alone to open any attachment inside the mail. Flag the email as SPAM, so you won’t receive any emails from the sender again. On the other hand, the government should take proactive measures to prevent this. The scam activities should be constantly monitored so that users will not suffer.

Companies can also contribute to this by blocking known scammer addresses. Employees should also be disallowed from visiting any rogue websites as it could hijack their web browsers, and capable of instructing your computer to perform other tasks, that may be harmful to the data stored in the hard drive. If this action require a higher management level decision, it should be reported in the companies reviews to let the decision makers know how serious the threats could be and how to stop it.
