Seven years ago, I was running an IT Solutions business. But due to the economic situation, I had no choice but to accept any offers, although some are not related with IT. If I remember correctly, one of the project that my company had was to design and supply catalogues and packagings for a local cosmetics company.
It was quite challenging as I did not have any experience related to product packaging and catalogue designs. But I’m thankful to have a wide range of resources that later became my strategic business partners.
One of my sources was a freelance products photographer. Eugene was a professional photographer and has been in the industry for many years before deciding to quit his full time job and run his own business but at the same time, continuing is photography business in part-time basis.
When he completed the products photography session, I still remember how hard for me to find someone that has a film slide scanner. His scanner was having some technical issues, so I had to find one on my own. And to make things worst, not many people has scanner with film scanning capability. One of the reason is the price tag that would punch a hole in your pocket.
Those days, only professionals that involves photography and designs own that kind of scanner. Most of home user scanners doesn’t have the ability to scan film. And Digital SLR cameras were relatively new and expensive. But at the end, I managed to find one, which belongs to a friend’s of mine who is a photography enthusiast.
Today, you won’t need film scanners as Digital SLR camera can upload the image directly to your computer. What’s more, you will enjoy the image quality to the maximum as the quality does not degrade, unlike film when you scanned, it involves second generation of image processing. Thanks to the digital photography!.
