Canon EOS 60D – A Powerful Tool For Shutterbugs

I still remember those days when SLR cameras were regarded as a camera for professionals. I started my photography days as early as 10 when my father bought a SLR (can’t remember the make, but it was not Nikon or Canon). There was no such thing as ‘easy’ photography as we need to carefully snap our photos with limited shots, as the maximum we could go for a roll of 35-mm film was 36 frames, which means we can take up to 36 shot at a time before the it needs to be replaced.Canon 60D

Today, we have been seeing a lot of changes in the world of photography. As a matter of fact, the term photography has become universal that almost anyone in this entire planet could take photos. And not only that, they can also share them with their friends around the globe, even just seconds the picture been taken, amazing?. Thanks to the technology, which converts the ‘analog’ photography to digital.

What’s more, the rapid development of technology has given us opportunity to own cutting edge cameras like Digital SLRs at a relatively lower price, compared to decade ago, when digital cameras just hit the streets. With the price that you were paying for a decent compact digital a decade ago, you can now get an entry level DSLR. The DSLRs has proven to be the best tool for amateur as well as semi-professional photographers.

The latest DSLR from Canon, 60D will be just another kid on the block that surely will facinate globe shutterbugs and create another hype. It is scheduled to replace the 50D in the Canon digital single lens reflex line and offers new features.

As a photographer, I’m not surprise with the new model from Canon or any other camera makers because this has been going on for quite some time. They will hook you with a new model, but as you just bought it, they’re announcing a replacement model to the one that you’ve just owned. But I somehow find the decision to change the magnesium to a plastic body is not a wise move.

I believe other photographers out there will agree with me, because if Canon thinks that they’re changing it because they need to reduce the weight of the camera, I would say, “Why bother to get a DSLR then?”. DSLR cameras are designed to give photographers a total control of their camera, allowing them to adjust the settings for aparture, ISO and others to ncreate a significant result. If you need a light based camera, just get a compact or semi camera like Canon PowerShot which deliver a not far quality compared to DSLR.

The EOS 60D comes with a 3-inch Live View foldable 7.7cm LCD screen that gives flexibility for shooting in different angles, which impossible for static screen. In other words, you don’t have to blindly press the shutter button without really seeing the subject in the viewfinder as you can see the live image from the screen in almost angle.

For those who love to take night potraits, you will surely love its ISO range which is extendable up to 12800, giving smooth images with minimal noise in low light conditions. You will no longer miss the precious moments with its 9-point AF system, giving you an accurate but yet fast focusing.
