James Bond’s Zippo Lighter

If you think only James Bond can have such spy gadgets around him, well think again!. This DVR camera disguised in a form of Zippo lighter were recently launched to meet spy gadgets fans with advanced features of digital video recording capability with USB flash memory to store your ‘007 mission’ video.

This cigarette lighter camcoder discreetly records 640 x 480 or VGA in AVI format at 15 fps into its 4GB built-in memory. Sharp Combines Phone with Digital Frame

A digital photo frame may sounds common to you, but the latest invention from Sharp Electronics gives you a combination of cordless phone with an integrated digital photo frame.

The device looks stylish and incorportes a 4.3-inch touchscreen display with 64Mb internal memory which should be enough to keep your most memorable pictures.

And what’s more, the JD-4C1CL sports other basic features including a clock, personal calendar and photo book. It will be available in white, red and brown when it hits the market this April.

This digital gadget from Sharp could make a pretty cool gift for friends or family members. The frame could be loaded with personal family pictures and offer it to your old folks on a special occasion such as anniversary.

Rugged Digital Compacts From Samsung

The battle of digital cameras is just getting hotter. Recently we wrote about the latest digital compact from Sony which is so durable that it could be brought into the water and withstand a certain height of drop.
Samsung is also coming up with their version of rugged digital compact camera. The Samsung AQ100 is a 12-megapixel ultracompact that’s water resistant down to 10 feet below the surface. It comes with 5x zoom lens, digital image stabilizer (IS) and also a 2.7-inch LCD display. It can also capture video up to 720p at 30 frames per second. Available in blue and red colors, you may expect this camera at a price of below $200 in this coming spring.
Another model from Samsung is SL605, which have a similar specification with the AQ100 minus the waterproof feature. But Samsung claims that the body is durable and applied with anti-scratch coating. It also has rubberrized dustproof buttons to avoid small particles to enter the camera. With the price of $130, this can be one of the cheapest rugged camera in the market.

GPS Helps Recover Stolen iPhone

The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite based service that helps us to determine our location, as a navigation device to guide you while on the road and also to locate your vehicles, whether in fleet management or your own personal car.

But the recent news about a 28-year old Tiernan Paine who accidentally left his iPhone in his unlocked car at Oak Creek last Thursday really proved GPS efficiency in helping people locating their belongings.

Fortunately, he happened to be a subscriber to MobileMe, a service that synchronizes data between his iPhone and his personal home computer. What’s more, the service includes a GPS service as well.

With the help of technology, he was able to pinpoint his phone’s location and amazingly, he saw a picture of suspect’s home. He then brought the evidence to the Oak Creek police. The next day he got his phone back and according to police source, the suspect confessed to about six thefts from parked cars in the vicinity.
